There are some of the major events happening in October, read our list below of what we believe are the must see events in Adelaide this month.

Indofest Adelaide – October 1st

Indofest-Adelaide is a vibrant community festival celebrating all things Indonesian. This year we celebrate the tenth anniversary of Indofest with an exciting program of traditional and contemporary music and dance, cooking demonstrations, culinary market, and regional exhibitions as part of our Kampung Indonesia project. It will take place in Victoria Square a short walk or tram ride away from the hotel.

Hybrid World Adelaide – October 4th – 8th

Hybrid World Adelaide (HWA) is an exciting new technology festival and a first for South Australia. Across five days, a range of public activities will take place, along with a conference and a development lab for new projects and inventions, explore the many ways the real and digital worlds are intertwined. This will take place at the Tonsley Innovation District a short train ride from Adelaide. The Adelaide Train Station is conveniently located right next door to the hotel.

Festival of Architecture and Design – October 5th – 8th

The festival of architecture and design (FAD) is an event that celebrates and promotes the future of architecture and design in South Australia locally, nationally and internationally.

Adelaide Film Festival – October 5th – 15th

Adelaide Film Festival is a biennial eleven-day celebration and exploration of Australian and international screen culture with a unique program of screenings, forums and special events.

Bridgestone World Solar Challenge – October 8th – 15th

Every two years, for the past 30 years, the World Solar Challenge has welcomed the greatest minds from around the world to Australia to challenge the norms and travel the outback in a vehicle powered only by the power of the sun. In 2017, the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge will celebrate its 30th Anniversary.

Adelaide Fashion Festival – October 11th – 15th

The Adelaide Fashion Festival presented by Mercedes-Benz Adelaide is a celebration of innovative South Australian design and style. It highlights Adelaide’s dynamic creative industries against a backdrop of the city’s vibrant venues and fashion precincts, the Adelaide Fashion Festival (AFF) is bold, original, progressive and inspired.

Vogue Festival (part of Adelaide Fashion Festival) – October 13th – 14th

The inaugural Vogue Festival is invigorating Adelaide’s fashion scene in signature style with runway shows, prizes, giveaways, events and more in Rundle Mall and Rundle Street.

Tarnanthi Festival of Contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Art – October 13th – 22nd

Tarnanthi, pronounced tar-nan-dee, is a Kaurna word from the traditional owners of the Adelaide Plains. It means to come forth or appear – like the sun and the first emergence of light. For many cultures, first light signifies new beginnings.

Building on the popular and critical success of the 2015 Festival, TARNANTHI returns in 2017, presenting the art of Australia’s oldest living culture on an unprecedented scale.

Ferment the Festival – October 19th – 22nd

FERMENT the FESTIVAL is the progression of the decade long and critically acclaimed CheeseFest. It will showcase some of Australia’s finest cheese makers and artisan producers of FERMENTED foods and beverages over four fabulous days.

An Evening of Spirits and Tapas – October 25th

Join us on Wednesday 25th October in The Atrium Lounge, along with Twenty Third Street Distillery, for an evening of spirits and tapas.

The Atrium Lounge and 23rd Street Distillery have teamed up to present an exclusive Spirits & Tapas pairing event. Enjoy a series of delicious tapas made from fresh local ingredients paired with small batch, handcrafted spirits from 23rd Street Distillery.

Vegan Festival – October 28th – 29th

Vegan Festival Adelaide brings together Adelaide’s local vegan and non-vegan community in an atmosphere of celebration and education. Founded in 2007, the Festival aims to explore a diverse vegan lifestyle and demonstrate how just a few adjustments can lead to a more compassionate way of living.
