Adelaide comes alive each March, with a plethora of festivals, performances and car races! Discover what to experience around our city whilst here enjoying the #InterContinentalLife.

1st – 4th March – Adelaide 500

The Adelaide 500 is the opening round of the Supercars Championship Series, Australia’s largest domestic motor sport event.

2nd – 4th March – Cellar Door Festival

This three-day event offers a vast program where you can experience and explore the regions, enjoy complimentary tastings, chat to the makers, and immerse yourself in an intimate behind-the-scenes culinary experience. Held at the Adelaide Convention Centre, which is right next door, this makes a perfect weekend activity experiencing our great South Australian wines.

1st – 18th March – The Garden Of Unearthly Delights

The annual Garden of Unearthly Delights is Australia’s most vibrant and dynamic outdoor festival, which occurs during the Adelaide Fringe. The Garden of Unearthly Delights began with just one Spiegeltent in 2000. Over the past seventeen years it has evolved into the greatest arts event in town and the heart of Adelaide’s summer arts festival season.  This unique family friendly festival has everything from carnival rides, and fringe shows to street food, pop-up bars and market stalls.

1st – 18th March – Adelaide Fringe Festival

The first Adelaide Fringe Festival occurred 57 years ago, and has grown to become the largest arts festival within the Southern Hemisphere! Venues around South Australia big and small, pop-up and permanent house thousands of artists from all over Adelaide, Australia and the world. There is a show for everyone including free events, comedy acts, acrobatic shows, and musicals just to name a few!

2nd – 18th March – Adelaide Festival

Adelaide Festival is an internationally renowned multi-arts festival that has been running for over 55 years. 2018 will mark the second Adelaide Festival presented by Co-Artistic Directors Neil Armfield AO and Rachel Healy, with an outstanding mix of internationally acclaimed theater productions, an eclectic array of world-class musicians, breathtaking dance pieces, renowned writers and striking visual arts displays.

3rd March – Adelaide Writer’s Week

Adelaide Writers’ Week is Australia’s largest free literary festival, offering both writers and readers a unique opportunity to spend time sharing ideas and literary explorations in a garden setting in Adelaide’s city centre.

Wednesday 7th March – Ed Sheeran at Adelaide Oval

Ed Sheeran returns to Adelaide in the first time since 2015. The concert will take place at Adelaide Oval, directly across the river from InterContinental Adelaide.

9th – 12th March – WOMAdelaide

WOMADelaide is a festival of music, arts and dance that runs over four days in Botanic Park over the March long weekend, in a celebration of the very best of the World of Music, Arts & Dance.

Monday 12th March – UBET Adelaide Cup Day

Adelaide’s biggest day of racing returns in 2018!  With premium hospitality, food, bars, entertainment and live racing throughout the day, there’s no better place to be on UBET Adelaide Cup Day.

Monday 26th March – Bruno Mars

The Grammy Award winner will tour with his 24K Magic World Tour playing at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. Travel to the Entertainment Centre via tram, with a stop located right at our doorstep on North Terrace.

Thursday 29th March – Sunday 29th July – Colours of Impressionism: Masterpieces From the Musée d’Orsay

More than 65 Impressionist masterpieces from the renowned collection of the Musée d’Orsay in Paris feature in a major exhibition at the Art Gallery of South Australia. Colours of Impressionism: Masterpieces from the Musée d’Orsay charts the revolution of colour that lies at the very heart of Impressionism and includes master works by Monet, Renoir, Manet, Morisot, Pissarro and Cézanne, among many others. In partnership with Art Exhibitions Australia, this exhibition has been curated by Marine Kisiel and Paul Perrin of the Musée d’Orsay for the Art Gallery of South Australia. Organised by Musée d’Orsay, Art Exhibitions Australia and the Art Gallery of South Australia.
