What’s on in Adelaide this November
This November brings a range of experiences to Adelaide, from the start of the festive cheer with the Christmas Pageant through to a multitude of festivals find below our recommendations on what to discover this month.
As part of the Adelaide Festival Centre’s OzAsia Festival, head along to the Lucky Dumpling Market which takes place down the steps from the hotel along the banks of the Adelaide River Torrens. Eat your way around Asia, with Asian inspired BBQs, noodles, stir fries, curries and loads of mouthwatering dumplings. Each night you will be entertained by free live music by local and international artists. Additionally, on weekends there are family friendly workshops and activities organised by different community groups – providing cultural activities from across Asia
An Adelaide institution, signalling to locals that Christmas is not far away. Since 1933,the Christmas Pageant has been the traditional start to the Christmas season in South Australia. Thousands of people, young and old, line the city streets to welcome Father Christmas to Adelaide. If a visit to the Langhorne Creek is on your agenda, on Saturday 10th November Handpicked Festival is taking place at Lake Breeze Wines. Spend the day enjoying the tunes of Vera Blue, Ball Park Music and Boy & Bear just to name a few. Throughout the day, laze about on a picnic blanket over their lush lawns, sip on Lake Breeze Wines and meander through the lane of lights for handmade goods by a myriad of local artisans and enjoy delicious, regional produced filled dishes from an array of local food trucks.
Feast is Adelaide’s only not-for-profit LGBTI Queer Arts and Cultural Festival that celebrates Pride and Diversity and is the 3rd largest of it’s kind in Australia. Beginning in 1997, the festival provides a safe and inclusive platform for the LGBTIQ community to share and express themselves through art and culture.
Held each year in the East Adelaide Parklands on the third weekend of November, the Mitsubishi Motors Australian International 3 Day Event is Australia’s premier equestrian competition. Commonly known as ‘Eventing’ – it is the triathlon of Horse Sport comprising the 3 phases of Dressage, Cross Country and Showjumping over 3 days on the same horse.
