South Australia boasts more than 200 cellar doors, hence making Adelaide the wine capital of Australia – and one of the nine Great Wine Capitals of the World, alongside Bordeaux in France, Napa Valley in the US and Bilbao Rioja in Spain.

The Wine Centre has a 500 vine vineyard, a tasting gallery as well as a wine store with wine for purchase as well as wine merchandise and glassware.
The Barossa Valley
The Barossa Valley is home to some of the world’s best shiraz.
Clare Valley is a little further north from the Barossa. Clare Valley is famous for Riesling. If you have a little more time up your sleeve and are feeling active, The Riesling Trail is the perfect way to discover and experience Clare by bike.
The Adelaide Hills
Just a short drive from Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills is a great place to spend a day touring cellar doors.
Stop at a Kangaroo Island cellar door or distillery for tasty liqueurs.
Coonawarra, Padthaway, Mount Benson, Cape Jaffa and Wrattonbully are on the Limestone Coast. The Limestone Coast is renowned for great, robust wines. Also on the Limestone Coast are the Robe and Mount Gambier wine regions.
The Riverland is located on the Murray River. It is home to some well-known and loved wineries such as Banrock Station Wine and Angove’s Family Winemakers.
Southern Flinders Ranges
The Southern Flinders wine region produces some surprising wines.

The original home of the Penfolds family and the famous Grange Bluestone Vintage Cellar is located a short 15 minute drive from the hotel. With a working winery and 60 year old vines, it is here you can take a Heritage tour, Super Premium tour or the Great Grange Tour. All tours allow you to sample some of Penfolds wonderful wines and the Heritage and Super Premium tours are accompanied by antipasto platters featuring South Australia’s best regional produce or the best regional cheeses.
Shaw + Smith was established in 1989 by cousins Michael Hill Smith MW and Martin Shaw. They make wines exclusively from the Adelaide Hills, from varieties that suit the cooler climate and their Sauvignon Blanc is a favourite of many.
Seppeltsfield is a marriage of Barossa history, community and fine winemaking endeavour. A new golden era now sees contemporary art and design and gastronomic excellence contribute to an exciting renaissance of Australia’s iconic wine estate.
