Discover South Australia this June Long weekend

Local Knowledge. It’s how InterContinental Adelaide helps you discover the real Adelaide.

Our Chef Concierge Siddhartha Kaul wants to connect you to the things that are special about Adelaide and has put together his list of recommendations on what to do and see this June long weekend. Enabling you to experience the location – not as a tourist, but as a true insider.

Adelaide Cabaret Festival

Our Riverbank Neighbour the Adelaide Festival Centre’s Adelaide Cabaret Festival returns from 5th-20th June, jam packed with another star-studded program of both international artists and a record number of local artists. Internationally acclaimed Barry Humphries is this year’s artistic Director which promises that this is a festival not to be missed. My personal recommendation is that you don’t miss Peter and Jack, this Sunday, 7th June at 07:30 PM, especially curated for the festival by our very own Barry Humphries that pays tribute to the legendary duo, the bass baritone Peter Dawson and songwriter Jack O’Hagan.
McLaren Vale BankSA Sea and Vines Festival

This weekend, head South for The McLaren Vale BankSA Sea and Vines Festival and savour what South Australia is famous for our great food, wine, perfectly complemented by the atmosphere, and scenery of McLaren Vale. Located only a short 45-minute drive from the front step, speak to our Concierge team for information regarding transport. Events are held on each of the 3 days over the long weekend and range from intimate degustation dinners with winemakers and chefs to winery tours and fun family activities. You can purchase a Sunday Experience ticket which, gives you access to three venues across the day for great food, wine and live music. Bookings are essential, please see our team for more information. Alternatively there is Monday Zest which is more family friendly and the entry to the venue is done by purchasing a Plumm Vintage Outdoor glass-No bookings required.

Adelaide Oval – Port Adelaide takes on Western Bulldogs

Alternatively if a sporting event is more your scene take in the AFL game of Port Adelaide vs. Western Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval on Saturday. The Oval is only a short walk across the pedestrian bridge and as it is an evening game Riverside Restaurant will be open from 5pm providing the perfect place for a pre-game meal.

If you would like any assistance during your stay, myself and my team are here to assist in making sure your visit to Adelaide is a memorable one.
